Open Learning Community
We Get It:
Speaking out can be scary, especially when it’s challenging to navigate difficult conversations or you might face professional and personal repercussions.
That’s why Bystanders No More has created a community for conversation and support. We have both a Discord channel for asynchronous conversation and a Zoom room for synchronous virtual weekly gathering.
Currently, we meet every Monday at 9 pm (Paris) or 1 pm MT (Denver), but that can change to accommodate new community members. Join every Monday or whenever you can or join Discord and let us know a time that works best for you.
Our community is a space for people who want to:
- Have open, honest conversations about Palestine and Israel
- Learn, share experiences, and resources
- Explore personal options to make a difference
- Connect with curious individuals who want to understand the conflict better
- Ask questions and discuss sensitive topics without fear of judgment or consequences
- Find emotional support as we reflect and grow together in understanding
This is a safe, moderated space where your voice matters, your perspectives are valued, and you can engage in meaningful dialogue without the usual constraints of public platforms.
Private – share your full name or not, your choice.
Supportive community – Connect with others who share your questions
Open dialogue – Discuss advocacy, education, and action strategies
Safe space – No fear of professional or personal repercussions
If you’re interested in joining this community, please just join Discord and briefly introduce yourself.
The community is open to all and will remain open to all who follow the following community engagement guidelines:
Community Engagement Guidelines
Share – Speak from your experience
Acknowledge Impact – Assume positive intent but acknowledge impact and seek to understand and repair harm
Be Willing to Grow – Ask questions. Expect and accept discomfort
Give Grace – We are human beings. It’s ok to make a mistake and to disagree; not ok to blame or shame
Privacy is Paramount – Take what you learn, leave what you heard (no screen shots or paraphrasing)
No Tolerance for Harassment – Severe violations (hate, threats, harassment) will lead to immediate removal or blocking. For smaller slip-ups, we’ll give a gentle warning first.

Curious to learn more about what’s happening in Palestine, but don’t know where to begin?
Join us for one of two special viewings of the Oscar-winning film, The Voice of Hind Rajab.
Come for both the movie and discussion afterwards, just the film, or just the conversation later!

Synopsis: January 29, 2024. Red Crescent volunteers receive an emergency call. A 5-year-old girl is trapped in a car under fire in Gaza, pleading for rescue. While trying to keep her on the line, they do everything they can to get an ambulance to her. Her name was Hind Rajab.
Discussion is an hour and a half after showtime, 9:30pm EST and 12:30pm EST, respectively.
If you have any questions at all or would like to learn more, please feel free to contact info@bystandersnomore.org.
